Peer Review Process

KAJIAN: Journal of Accounting, Management, and Islamic Banking implements a double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and scientific contribution of every manuscript submitted for publication. In this system, the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed from one another throughout the review process.

Each manuscript submitted to the journal is evaluated by at least two independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the manuscript’s subject area. The purpose of the review process is to assess the manuscript’s academic merit, methodological rigor, originality, clarity, and relevance to the journal’s scope.

Peer Review Process

1. Manuscript Submission

The corresponding author submits the manuscript through the journal’s online submission system powered by Open Journal Systems (OJS). In special circumstances, submissions may also be accepted via email.

2. Initial Editorial Assessment

The editorial office reviews the manuscript to ensure compliance with the journal’s focus and scope, formatting requirements, and author guidelines. The manuscript is also screened using plagiarism detection software such as Turnitin.

3. Evaluation by the Editor-in-Chief

The Editor-in-Chief determines whether the manuscript is sufficiently original, significant, and relevant to proceed to peer review. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal’s standards may be rejected at this stage.

4. Reviewer Invitation

The handling editor invites at least two qualified reviewers based on their expertise and the absence of conflicts of interest.

5. Reviewer Response

Invited reviewers assess their availability, expertise, and potential conflicts of interest before accepting or declining the review invitation.

6. Peer Review

Reviewers evaluate the manuscript and submit a detailed report along with one of the following recommendations:

  • Accept
  • Minor Revisions
  • Major Revisions
  • Reject

7. Editorial Decision

The Editor-in-Chief and handling editor consider all reviewer comments and make one of the following decisions:

  • Accept Submission
  • Revision Required
  • Resubmit for Review
  • Reject Submission

The review process generally takes between 2 and 10 weeks, depending on reviewer availability and the extent of revisions required.

8. Communication of Decision

The corresponding author receives the editorial decision and anonymized reviewer comments.

9. Final Processing

Accepted manuscripts undergo copyediting, proofreading, and layout editing before publication. Revised manuscripts may be re-evaluated by reviewers or editors before final acceptance.
