Author Guidelines

A. GENERAL INFORMATION

1. Manuscripts must be original, have not been previously published in any scientific journal, and must not be under consideration for publication elsewhere. Authors must not submit the manuscript to another publication during the review process unless it has been officially withdrawn from TATANAN: Jurnal Hukum dan Syariah. This declaration must be included in the Statement of Originality and Copyright Release Form (Form A). The journal uses Similarity Check powered by Turnitin to help identify suspected plagiarism in submitted manuscripts.
2. Submitted manuscripts must address research topics that comply with applicable research ethics, including bioethical requirements where relevant.
3. TATANAN: Jurnal Hukum dan Syariah is published twice a year.

B. MANUSCRIPT REQUIREMENTS

1. Manuscripts must be written in English and follow standard academic writing conventions. Authors whose first language is not English are encouraged to have their manuscripts professionally language-edited before submission.
2. Manuscripts must be prepared using Microsoft Word. Graphs should be created using Microsoft Excel, while figures should be submitted in JPEG or PDF format.
3. Manuscripts must use Cambria, 12 pt.
4. Manuscripts should be approximately 9–15 pages long, using A4 paper with the following margins: top 2.5 cm, left 2.5 cm, right 2 cm, and bottom 2 cm. The manuscript should use a single-column layout, single spacing, and justified alignment. Exceptions may be made for abstracts, figures, or tables when necessary to preserve readability. The main sections should comprise: Introduction, Method, Results and Discussion, Conclusion and Suggestions, Acknowledgment, and References.
5. The manuscript title must be concise, clear, and representative of the article's content.
6. Authors' names must appear below the title, followed by their institutional affiliations and email addresses.
7. The abstract must be written in English in narrative form and represent the article's content. It should include the research objectives, methods, and principal findings.
8. Authors are encouraged to follow relevant research reporting guidelines, such as STROBE for observational studies, SRQR for qualitative studies, PRISMA for systematic reviews, CARE for case reports, and CONSORT for clinical trials.
9. Keywords should consist of words or phrases that are important, specific, and representative of the article's content.
10. Citations and references must follow the APA 7th Edition style.
11. References should preferably consist of journal articles and other academic sources published within the last six years. Relevant classic works and legal sources may also be cited when appropriate to the research topic.
12. Manuscripts must follow the official template of TATANAN: Jurnal Hukum dan Syariah.

C. MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION PROCEDURE

1. Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx) through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) online submission system. Authors must create an account by selecting Register if they do not yet have an account or Log In if they are already registered.
2. The corresponding author must complete the information for all authors, including names, email addresses, institutional affiliations, and short biographies in the Bio Statement field. For manuscripts written by two or more authors, select Add Author in the third step, Enter Metadata, of the submission process and enter each author's information.
3. All correspondence, notifications, and editorial decisions concerning submitted manuscripts will be communicated through the email address provided in the manuscript and/or used during submission. Authors can check their manuscript status by logging into the journal's OJS system.

D. TEMPLATE AND CONTACT INFORMATION

Authors must use the official TATANAN: Jurnal Hukum dan Syariah manuscript template when preparing their submissions.
