KHIDMAT: Jurnal Penerapan Ilmu dan Pemberdayaan Berkelanjutan implements a double-blind peer review system. In this process, the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from one another to ensure an objective, fair, and unbiased evaluation. Every manuscript submitted to the journal is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the manuscript’s subject area.

The peer review process is intended to assess the manuscript’s originality, academic quality, methodological rigor, relevance to the journal’s scope, and contribution to scientific knowledge and community empowerment.

Review Procedure

1. Manuscript Submission

Authors submit manuscripts through the journal’s Open Journal System (OJS). All submissions must comply with the journal’s author guidelines and ethical requirements.

2. Initial Editorial Screening

The editorial office conducts a preliminary assessment to ensure that the manuscript fits the journal’s focus and scope, follows the required format, and meets minimum academic quality standards. Manuscripts that pass this stage are screened using Turnitin Similarity Check to detect possible plagiarism.

3. Editor-in-Chief Evaluation

The Editor-in-Chief evaluates the manuscript’s originality, significance, and suitability for publication. Manuscripts considered unsuitable may be rejected at this stage without external review.

4. Reviewer Selection and Invitation

The handling editor invites qualified reviewers based on their expertise, research interests, and absence of conflicts of interest. Manuscripts are sent to reviewers in anonymous form.

5. Reviewer Response

Invited reviewers may accept or decline the invitation depending on their expertise, availability, and potential conflicts of interest.

6. Review Process

Reviewers evaluate the manuscript thoroughly and provide constructive comments and recommendations. They may recommend:

• Accept
• Minor Revision
• Major Revision
• Reject

7. Editorial Decision

The Editor-in-Chief and handling editor consider all reviewer reports before making a decision. When reviewer opinions differ substantially, an additional reviewer may be invited.

Possible editorial decisions are:

• Accept
• Accept with Minor Revisions
• Accept with Major Revisions
• Resubmit for Review
• Reject

The peer review process generally takes approximately 2–10 weeks, depending on reviewer availability and the complexity of the manuscript.

8. Communication of Decision

The corresponding author receives an official decision letter together with anonymous reviewer comments and revision instructions, if applicable.

9. Revision and Final Publication

Authors must revise the manuscript according to the reviewers’ comments and resubmit it within the specified deadline. Revised manuscripts may be re-evaluated by reviewers or by the handling editor. Once accepted, the manuscript proceeds to copyediting, layout editing, proofreading, and online publication.

All accepted articles are published online as open-access articles and are freely available for reading and downloading.
