Edukasi Kesehatan Reproduksi Remaja di Pondok Pesantren: Implementasi Model Peer Educator dan Evaluasi Perubahan Perilaku

Abstrak

Purpose: This community service program aims to improve adolescents’ knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors regarding reproductive health in Islamic boarding schools through the implementation of a peer educator model adapted to religious values and local culture.

Design/Methodology: The activities were conducted using a Participatory Action Research approach over six months, involving 120 students and 15 selected peer mentors. Data were collected through KAP (Knowledge, Attitude, Behavior) questionnaires, participatory observation, focus group discussions (FGDs), and reflective notes, and were analyzed using descriptive-comparative and thematic methods.

Findings: The intervention successfully increased the average knowledge score from 54.2 to 86.7, shifted stigmatizing attitudes toward greater openness and empathy, and strengthened intentions for healthy behavior by 68%. The peer educator model proved effective in creating a safe space for dialogue that aligns with boarding school norms.

Practical Implications: This model can be adopted by boarding school administrators, health departments, and the Ministry of Religious Affairs as a sustainable, participatory, and gender-sensitive reproductive health education strategy.

Originality/Value: This study fills a gap in the literature by integrating a peer-based approach rooted in pesantren values with multidimensional behavioral change measurement, demonstrating that reproductive health education can be effective without undermining students’ religious identity, while also offering a structured evaluation framework for similar programs.
