Isi Artikel Utama
Abstrak
Purpose: This community service project aims to evaluate the effectiveness of assistance in establishing a sharia-based savings and loan cooperative in empowering women economically and improving household resilience in Mekar Jaya Village.
Design/Methodology: The program was implemented using a Participatory Action Research approach over nine months, involving 45 women micro-entrepreneurs. Data were collected through pre- and post-surveys, financial transaction records, focus group discussions (FGDs), and participatory observation, and were analyzed descriptively, comparatively, and thematically.
Findings: The intervention successfully established a functional cooperative adhering to Sharia principles, increased average income by 34.2%, reduced reliance on conventional debt by 58%, and achieved a fund repayment ratio of 96.5%. Sustainability indicators demonstrated strengthened institutional capacity and high levels of community ownership.
Practical Implications: This integrated mentoring model can be adopted by cooperative agencies, Sharia financial institutions, and village facilitators as a framework for inclusive microfinance development with measurable sustainability.
Originality/Value: This study fills a gap in the literature by introducing an operational sustainability index contextualized for rural women’s cooperatives, demonstrating that the synergy of technical assistance, Sharia compliance, and participatory governance yields institutionalized and sustainable economic impacts.
